Coaching is personalized, confidential, and collaborative.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF, 2018) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
The process of coaching clients may involve the coach utilizing questionnaires and assessment tools; asking questions to not only gather information, but to also elicit the self-awareness and insight of clients; actively listening; jointly developing relevant between-session work with clients; helping clients to identify their resources (e.g., experience and qualities); helping clients to create strategies to overcome blocks to success; working with clients toward promoting a high degree of self-care; and helping clients to identify their values and vision. A key aspect of the coaching relationship is in developing appropriate action steps to help clients move forward toward their goals and aspirations.

Executive-leadership coaching is useful for helping current executive leaders to effectively navigate the specific challenges they face to achieve their objectives and goals. Coaching serves to foster an executive's individual growth and leadership effectiveness to impact organizational success.
Additionally, this kind of coaching can also prepare individuals at any level to become effective leaders for the future by cultivating the executive leadership skills necessary to ascend at each level of leadership. For example, skills like self-awareness and insight, strategic thinking and decision-making, influence and presence, communication and storytelling, self-management and self-care, teamwork, conflict management, systems thinking, and culture development are highly coveted skills of an effective leader, just to name a few.
Clients are thoughtfully selected by me to ensure a successful coaching engagement. Coaching is most impactful when both parties are dedicated to growth and partnership. The right results don't happen without the right clients for me to work with. A successful coaching relationship depends on compatibility, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to the process. Therefore, I require potential clients to be throughly vetted using a questionnaire to determine if we'll work well together to be able to achieve the outcome that you want.
It's definitely possible to get your organization to pay for or reimburse you for coaching as part of your professional development. Check with your manager or human resources department to find out if this is something the organization can do for you.
Not everyone is coachable. You're coachable if you recognize it as a meaningful investment in yourself, can show up with consistency, are receptive to considering changes based on feedback, willing to hold yourself accountable to your commitments, are open to being challenged and navigating challenges, interested in considering new and different perspectives, and can provide your coach with honest feedback.
Coaching is a financial investment in yourself. I charge based on value, not on time, so there is no "hourly" rate. Executive-leadership coaching typically runs higher in price than other kinds of coaching. My fees range from what could be described as "ouch" to "faint." They vary depending upon the level of your role in your organization and the duration of the coaching engagement.
Once you schedule your appointment(s), that time is reserved in the schedule for you. If you have to cancel or reschedule, a minimum 24-hour notice is required. With the required notice, the session can be rescheduled or canceled without a fee. However, if you do not give the required notice, you will forfeit the fee for that session.
If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.
